The world's leading pharmaceutical company is set to announce that it will soon launch a new drug aimed at treating erectile dysfunction.
The new drug, called Cialis, will be made by a group of drug-makers called "Surgical Pharma".
Cialis is the first erectile dysfunction drug to be approved for sale by the European Medicines Agency (EMA) after being shown to have a positive effect on erectile function.
The drug, which is in development for the treatment of pulmonary arterial hypertension and is in Phase 2 clinical trials, will be available in Europe within the first four months of the new year.
Surgical Pharma is the first group of drug-makers to market the drug. It will be made available to the European Union as well.

"We have been working with many different companies for many years to bring our drug to the attention of the pharmaceutical industry and we look forward to launching our first product in the US in January 2018."
Surgical Pharma said the new product will be priced between €10,000 and €30,000, and the price will be spread out over four months, with the price for Cialis to be between €1,500 and €20,000.

Surgical Pharma said that the company would continue to sell Cialis for about €1,500, and that the price would be spread out over four months.
The company had previously indicated that the prices for the Cialis product would be lower because of the patent expiry.
